Are there any national standards for food-grade flexographic water-based inks?
Yes. It is best to refer to the US FDA standard for food grade.

"Food grade ink" is suitable for printing inks for food packaging. It is naturally in contact with food. The ink directly attached to the food should be called edible ink. In fact, it is food, but it expresses the function of text and colour, such as The words and patterns printed on the cake. The ink printed on the packaging material belongs to the auxiliary material of the packaging material, and it is impossible to eat. It can be divided into two categories: One is the direct contact between the ink and the food, such as the coating and text on the inner wall of the can, and the drying of the mixture in the food. The ink on the surface of the agent packaging bag and the paper printed products directly packaging food, etc., these inks must be selected and produced by materials that meet the requirements of the standard;

The other type is a larger amount of printing inks for food packaging materials. These inks have no direct contact with food, and the inks are separated by packaging materials with barrier functions. Therefore, the imprint of the ink must meet the relevant quality of the auxiliary packaging materials. Requirements and basic safety and health requirements.

In this regard, there are currently no strict and specific definition standards at home and abroad. You can directly refer to the European Printing Ink Association and the Japanese Printing Ink Industry Federation respectively have their own industry specifications and self-regulatory standards.
